so my employee, who is 24, and dumb as a hoe handle, was talking to me in the truck yesterday

he did work with a mason for a yr or so, and has decided to go into the mason business

his plans are: go door to door and sell his services. his mommy is buying him a cement mixer for his birthday

so i asked him how he will price his work? there has to be some kind of sytematic pricing guide , what will it be?

well, he looks at me like my pug looked at me, when i tried to teach him card tricks

so i splained that a safe way would be "time and materials". get as close as u can estimating the time, figure your materials and mark them up as well. what can a mason expect to make per hr?

he goes on to say, " well, concrete is cheap. i can buy it at the depot, it comes in 80 lb bags, and 40 bags = a ton :rockon2: . as far as hourly rate.....i know that i can do a average walkway in about 6 hours. i'll just times the 6 x $15 an hr."

frieghtening, to say the least

so naturally, i'm looking to make some denerio off of his back and sweat.if he wants $15, so be it. i can sub out to him.

what hourly rate should a masonboy expect to make?

deck is bent. cut is simply not acceptible. the guy at the shop showed me the deck is bent, and says he can usually straiten them within a 32nd of an inch

is that satisfactory? or do u think the cutting quality will still be bad? i think a 32nd is alot. but what do i know

I think so.

Best chemical synthetic base oils and additive packages based on comparing typical properties, testing and my perspective as a retired Shell Oil chemist.

Longest warranted extended oil change intervals. Often 25,000 to 50,000 miles up to one year, and longer when validated with a used oil analysis.

Most used synthetic oil analyses and "The First in Synthetics" since 1972.

Best and longest parts and labor oil and filter warranty in the business.

Shown time and again to be the most cost effective due to extended oil change intervals and improved fuel economy, often paying for itself and even saving additional money.

Best oil reputation with no oil failures reported in 38 years.

Only company to publish undisputed detailed independent chemical and performance testing against a wide range of oils.

No vehicle or manufacturer states AMSOIL can not be used in their products.

I've looked for a better oil for the past 10 years and can't find one better. If there is one, I'd be selling it.

Anyone agree or disagree?

This is my first post.

Hi, I'm new:punk: and would like to get some help with a yard that is full of clover and weeds with is in Louisville Ky. This is my first house and I would like to have a nice "grass" yard. Minimal weeds if any. What should I do first? Use a weed and feed to kill off the weeds and crab grass, then hit up with a winterizer in October? Then seed in the spring? Or in mid-late sept overseed with a starter fertilizer, then in the spring do a weed and feed?

I know a weed and feed you need 3 mowing before you weed and feed. I know you can add fertilizer in early April? I am just trying to have a nice lawn that will handle the hot/dry summers of the Ohio river valley and the cold too. I have been told to use tall fescue or Kentucky 31. I cut it tall and have a self mulching mower. If others offer help, I will add photo's of the current lawn:helpsmilie: . It's not pretty:no: Any help will do. Video's and photo's too.

Thank you very much for your help and advise:punk:
John

Whenever I sit down and discuss oil prices with a customer, it sometimes appears that AMSOIL costs more than what they are currently using.

Until we calculate out the cost savings in fewer oil changes, labor, fuel economy and income lost in downtime compared to their current oil. Plus it has been shown that equipment runs better and longer with fewer repairs with AMSOIL. This is why 1500 government agencies run AMSOIL. And why so many businesses and individuals use AMSOIL.

Anyone else notice this? Anyone dispute this?

I've found that AMSOIL is the only oil company that offers a free parts and labor warranty for all affected parts should their oil or filter ever fail, even when extending past the OEM recommended oil change intervals if recommended by AMSOIL.

Most other oil companies either offer no written warranty, or limit certain parts or labor coverage, limit to certain beginning and ending mileages and not for extended oil change intervals. AMSOIL has no such limitations.

Does anyone know of an oil company that offers a better warranty than AMSOIL?

we been talking about the flat seasonal rate vs the "per cut" rate. most of u say no can do.

well, on monday, i have an appointment to see mrs *****stien. i will be attempting to sell her on a seasonal rate. i'd say my chances are around 50/50. there are many factors

first the factors against me:

#1- her name ends in "stien" . need i say more?

#2- u know these people don't lift a finger for themselves, so i'm certain she's been exposed to other lawnturds who charge "per cut", so my per season pricing may strike her as unconventional

#3- i will not budge on my price, or, my seasonal agreement (no "per cut" pricing)

in my favor:

#1- i'm very goodlooking, and quite the charmer

#2- i have all my teeth, and the ability to speak in complete sentences

#3- i'll be offering specials, which i feel she may find irresistable

what are my chances
