Back when I started the best guys were the ones in the Melroe Spray-Coupes getting soaked by over-spray every other pass down the field.

don't know about the spray coupes, all we had was a wagon with 2 55 gallon drums in the back. Never had overspray because we made the mules run faster.

I probably see 25 spray coupes a day sitting in fields with 4sale on them. I oftened wondered how much and what you could do with them

Auto dealer in town had one for sale they took on trade-in. Asked 800 for it.

I helped them get it started when a guy was looking at it. Pretty much just a big go-cart with a volkswagen engine. No cab, no shields, pure insanity.

I often wonder what you could do with them myself. I guess you could make a heck of a parade float with them.

Anyway wait till august 15, spray the area with roundup, most will start to turn brown, on august 25, spray the area with roundup again (cause you are a piss poor sprayer and you missed a few plants) august 26 scratch the area, plant grass seed(a good quality seed mixture) use a starter fertilizer like 18-24-12. Sit back, it will rain in the first week of Sept, 21 days later you will see a perfect lawn. 3 weeks later fertilize again. Next spring, March 17 treat with fertilizer that includes a premergent herbicide, like Scotts Halts Plus.
I'm done wasting time. Just going to start with a clean slate this fall planting season and go with your recommendation. Just out of curiosity...what should be done with all the dead plant? It's a big area. Must it be cleared before planting seed? Roto-til?

Thanks again.

Thanks again.

It's good organic matter. Leave it there and till it in.

good idea about parade float although I think that was their major shortcoming--they couldn't go up hills loaded so I would think pulling something wouldn't work

True enough. Pull out the thick white bits.
